The Dutch are happy because for the first time in 37 years, there is a Dutch film in competition for the Golden Palm. 'Borgman' is a comedy film by Alex Van Warmerdam. It is made in co-production with the Brussels production house Epidemic. There are also many Flemish actors in the film. We talked to them at the festival.

'The Congress' by Ari Folman opened the Quinzaine in Cannes yesterday. Folman is the creator of the Oscar-nominated 'Waltz With Bashir'. In his new film there is also a lot of animation, which was created by the Brussels company Walking The Dog.

"Behind the Redwood Curtain" is the first documentary by Brussels director Liesbeth De Ceulaer. A fascinating story on the relationship between man and nature. The première of the film will be tomorrow at Aventure.

The BIFFF opens tonight. For the first time at Bozar.

The 31st edition of the BIFFF kicked off at Bozar on Tuesday. The latest Neil Jordan "Byzantius" opened the festival.
